Masterpiece of ancient architecture, the aqueduct of Pont du Gard is one of the most beautiful Roman constructions in the region. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Pont du Gard joins an exceptional global legacy, a remarkable site to be protected for generations to come.
"The echo of my steps under these huge arches made me believe I was hearing voice of those who had built it. I was lost like an insect in this vastness. I felt something in me that touched my soul and I said to myself : why am I not Roman! ". Jean-Jacques Rousseau
"In front of the Pont du Gard, the soul is thrown into a long and deep astonishment. Not even the Colosseum in Rome plunged me into such a profound reverie." Stendhal
